Fancy getting some money out of an estate agents’, to go to a good cause?
Bairstow Eves in South Croydon has promised to pay £10 towards St Peter’s Church’s Christmas Market fund-raising for every local owner-occupier who agrees to take an advertising board for the event on their property.
The Christmas Market – with stalls of bric-a-brac, cakes and home produce, games and activities for children – will be staged on Saturday, November 28.
St Peter’s is a rarity among Croydon’s buildings – being something of true architectural interest and merit.
It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and dedicated in 1851. The spire provides a visual landmark to all those who travel through South Croydon. With the help of English Heritage, a lot of work has been carried out to maintain the building, but as with any 160-year-old building, fund-raising is an on-going process.
Contact Norman Davis at St Peter’s Church for more details, to take up a stall, or if you wish to volunteer to allow an advertising board to be sited outside your home.
