The Surrey Opera Soirée, returns with a slight difference – a totally Christmas programme – on Saturday December 12 at 7.30pm at Whitgift School’s Concert Hall, entrance in Nottingham Road, South Croydon, CR2 6YT – doors open and drinks available from 7pm.
The programme will consist of Christmas songs, dramatic readings and carols, with a stunning musical setting by Colin Warnock of The Night Before Christmas for chorus and soloists. We are delighted to welcome back Joanne McGahon, Kevin Jones (most recently seen as King Arthur in Camelot) and Peter Sidhom (fortuitously home briefly, after much singing abroad this year). Surrey Opera Artistic Director Jonathan Butcher has devised the programme and will conduct, whilst Jonathan Musgrave, our excellent young repetiteur, will be our accompanist for the evening.
