There are still a few lanes available for eager fund-raisers at the 2016 Purley Swimathon on Saturday February 27 and Thursday March 3.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Purley, they say, “This is an ideal opportunity for your association, charity or youth club to raise much-needed funds. The Rotary Club does all the organising, all you need to do is take the up this popular fund-raising initiative and enter a team of between five and 10 swimmers.”
The Rotary Club of Purley has organised the event since 1988 and in that time have helped charities and organisations raise more than £450,000. With the continued help of local organisations, youth clubs and charities, they think that they are just a few more lengths away from reaching a £500,000 target.
The Swimathon is a “fun” event open to swimmers of all ages and abilities. Swimmers aged as young as six and as old as 80 have entered the event.
