The Keep Our St Helier Hospital campaign – KOSHH – and Sutton’s Keep Our NHS Public are staging a free screening of Sell-Off – The Abolition of the NHS, followed by a discussion on Friday, January 29.
In Sell-Off, filmmaker Peter Bach exposes the two decade covert privatisation which has occurred without public mandate and against the public interest, in which your NHS has been quietly transformed into a business ready for corporate takeover and conversion to the American private insurance model.
The Sutton screening, being staged at 7pm at the Friends Meeting House, 10 Cedar Road, SM2 5DA (close to Sutton station), will be followed with a discussion with speakers Dr Lucy Reynolds and GP Youssef El-Gingihy, who will talk about the themes raised by the film, and what can be done to stop and reverse it.
