Rotary evensong for voluntary sector, Croydon Minster, Apr 17

Evensong

Croydon Minster, together with Rotary in Croydon, has arranged a special Evensong to be held at the Minster on Sunday April 17 at 6.30pm to celebrate and thank the many voluntary organisations in Croydon for their dedication to serving others.

Croydon Minster 2Everyone who works within and alongside the voluntary sector together with their family and friends are invited to attend this service. Organisation regalia, medals and insignia should be worn.

It is the people of Croydon who are our town’s greatest asset. In our town there are hundreds of voluntary organisations, charities, faith groups and a great variety of local associations whose volunteers have given decades, often whole lifetimes, of service to the community. They exemplify the great principle of giving service to others before self-service and the voluntary work that they have done and continue to do deserves to be celebrated.

Croydon’s army of selfless volunteers are, more than anything else, the glue that binds our community together.
