London Re-use is specialises in high-quality office furniture sales and collection services, and offers carbon diversion reporting to clients. Any items unsuitable for re-use sales are offered to a network of social enterprises and charities, or are sent for recycling, reducing the amount going to disposal.

The Purley Way depot replaces the company’s previous warehouse in Perivale.

Buying re-used furniture offers a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to buying new, the company says. This has proved particularly attractive to small- and medium-sized businesses and start-ups.

London Re-use was set up by the London Community Resource Network in 2010 after it received funding from the London Waste and Recycling Board, with the idea of diverting re-usable items from landfill and incineration.

“We are very pleased to open our Croydon warehouse as it offers a high quality modern environment which will allow us to serve our customers even more efficiently,” said Pyarali Jamal, London Re-use’s CEO.

“Purchasing from us offers our clients the increasingly important additional benefits of reducing their carbon footprint and supporting environmental sustainability.”
