There’s growing concern for the well-being of Robert Gibson, pictured above, the widely admired and much-loved community activist from the Crystal Palace area and leading light in the Save the Upper Norwood Library campaign.
Gibson has not been home since 3pm on Monday, when he went out for a walk from his Gipsy Hill home. The last signal from his mobile phone was less than an hour later, in the vicinity of East Croydon railway station.
Around six-foot tall, slim, in his late 40s, grey-haired and with glasses and a distinctly Northern Irish accent, he was last seen wearing a Barbour-style coat.
Lambeth police are handling the search, and if you have seen Robbie or think you know where he might be, please contact Tony Virgil at Gipsy Hill Police Station on 07876 131748.
