Addiscombe Railway Park’s community garden is holding a Gardening Club every Wednesday, from 6.30pm till 7.30pm
All abilities of gardener are welcome, tools and gloves provided, and children are welcome at the sessions, which are supervised by experienced gardeners who are keen to pass on ideas and information which you can apply in your own garden. The community garden also welcomes people who don’t have ready access to garden space of their own, and invites them to enjoy the amenity and make new friends.
“We can’t guarantee the weather or a good crop, however you will be sure to make some new friends and will be helping make this little piece of our world just a little bit more beautiful,” say the Friends of Addiscombe Railway Park.
The Friends also meet on the second Sunday of every month from 2pm to undertake conservation and improvement works in the park.
New and old volunteers are always welcome.
“This year we planted a community orchard and have built a community garden where people can grow food and flowers together, connecting both with nature and their neighbours. We are also hosting a number of free community events and we would love you to join us,” they say.
