Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has teamed up with Cats Protection and the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals to hold a free event addressing pet owners’ various needs at John Lewis Home on the Purley Way this Wednesday August 17.
You’d have to be barking if you didn’t take up the free offers of help from pet charities in Croydon this week
Pet owners can get their dogs microchipped for free, receive a free PDSA well-being check for their handsome hound, receive vouchers for eligible cats to be neutered at a later date and ask any questions they might have about their animal’s health, safety, training and behaviour.
“Working alongside other animal welfare groups is a good way for us to promote responsible pet ownership in the community,” Sharon Sealey, from the world-famous dogs’ home, said. “At Battersea, we want to reduce the number of stray dogs and help people find their dogs if they do get lost, and events like this help us do that.”
Donna Charway, of the PDSA, said: “By offering free, friendly advice and support, we can help owners make small changes that can often make a big difference to the well-being of pets.”
Wednesday’s event runs from 11am to 4pm at John Lewis Home, Purley Way, Croydon, CR0 4XJ.

I hope lots of people took up this opportunity. I have found 2 dogs whilst out and about on their own. Luckily they were both microchipped and were quickly returned to their worried owners. Make sure to keep the contact details on microchip up to date otherwise that’s as useless as having no microchip at all.
