A planned Network Rail closure of a bridge over Old Lodge Lane will see road closures and considerable traffic disruption in the area for six weeks through to Christmas and into the New Year. Coulsdon residents are encouraged to attend an information meeting at St Nicholas School, off Reedham Drive, at 6.30pm this Wednesday, October 19.
The problem with having a largely Victorian transport infrastructure is that it requires regular, and extensive, maintenance work.
Network Rail’s closures on Old Lodge Lane will be the second time that the Coulsdon road has been closed for Network Rail works during a 12-month period.
The latest closure is due to begin on November 21, and will last until January 9, 2017. At least.
The closure will be at the bridge furthest from A23 between Watney Close and Hartley Down, and will involve extensive traffic diversions near Reedham Station, and will see a shuttle bus provided for pedestrians.
