It’s seconds out for a father and son as they are doing their bit in the boxing ring to try to knock out breast cancer.

Fighting cancer: Billy Kemp, left, and his father Bill Kemp make their boxing debut next week
Bill Kemp, 48, from Coulsdon, and his 27-year-old son, Billy, will be getting into the ring at a special cancer charity boxing show at the Clapham Grand on March 30, to raise awareness for breast cancer and the care that Breast Cancer Care offers.
“My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and I wanted to take on this challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Care and support others who are facing a diagnosis,” Billy Kemp said.
The father and son duo have been training for two months at Train2Fight in Clapham, with the aim of taking part in the charity boxing match against other boxers from a nearby gym. “Both me and my dad have never boxed before, but eager to show what we have learned,” Billy Kemp said.
Claire Pulford, the head of events at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We’re so grateful to Bill Kemp and Billy Kemp for taking on this incredible challenge for Breast Cancer Care and wish them both the best of luck.
“The money both Bill and Billy Kemp raises will help us provide care, support and information to help thousands of people to find a way to live with, through and beyond breast cancer.”
Every year, more than 60,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care raises funds to help as many of them as it can through a series of sporting and adventire challenges – you can find something to suit you by clicking here.
“It’s vital that Breast Cancer Care’s services remain free; they’re a lifeline to people diagnosed with breast cancer. With support from fabulous fundraisers like Bill and Billy, we can be there for more people whenever they need us,” Pulford said.
