Proms on the Pitch coming to Warlingham on Aug 27

Croydon is to get its very own outdoor Proms concert later this summer.

Warlingham are staging their own version of Proms in the Park in August

The first Proms On The Pitch, at Warlingham rugby club, will be staged on the evening of Sunday, August 27, with Nigel Garrard and his Orchestra performing for picnickers hopefully enjoying some late summer evening warmth.

The organisers say, “Come and join us for something just a little different! What could be better on a late summer’s afternoon sitting back in a deck chair, watching the sun go down with a picnic, listening to live big band music and sipping something cold? Bring your family and friends along to have one last summer hurrah!

“Nigel Garrard and his Orchestra will entertain you with songs from the swing era, the movies and with a few Prom classics thrown in as well. Flag-waving compulsory!

“There will be an outside bar, as well as a Pimms and Prosecco tent. Hot food will also be available on the evening, along with the quintessentially British strawberries and cream and Scones and jam.”

Bring your own deck chairs and rugs.

Tickets are £12 each, and can be booked here.
