I am willing to bet that no mention of DANGEROUS AIR POLLUTION will be made at the upcoming cardiac rehabilitation meeting. While it plays a leading part (amongst others) in precipitating mortality, and is internationally recognised by research, the continuing stranglehold on successive gorvernments of the oil and car lobbies has rendered it a mere whisper in rehab circles. In the early days, when only scientists really understood the epidemiology, that was just ignorance…..now, after all the newspaper headlines, it would be negligence!
