A civic ceremony is to take place in New Addington on Saturday, November 9, to mark the third anniversary of the Sandilands tram derailment.
More than 60 people were injured in the incident and seven people – Dane Chinnery, Donald Collett, Robert Huxley, Philip Logan, Dorota Rynkiewicz, Philip Seary and Mark Smith – were killed when the tram derailed close to Sandilands tram stop.
Croydon Council says: “Members of the public are invited to join the Mayor of Croydon for the service on Saturday, November 9 at Market Square, Central Parade. The ceremony will begin at 11am and will include a one-minute silence in memory of those who died.”
