Best wishes for the festive season to our loyal reader

Christmas 6That’s it from us for a couple of days. It’s not that we don’t have loads more material to inflict upon our loyal reader. We just realise that you’ll not be bothering to log-on over the turkey and the mince pies.

We’d like to thank our loyal reader for their massive support over the last 12 months, which has seen Inside Croydon break all records, in terms of nearly 800,000 unique visitors since January 1, 2019, and the 1.65million page views generated.

Thank you also for all the comments – the ones that were publishable, anyway – and the emails, articles, commentaries, tip-offs and documents that you have sent through to us which have all contributed to making this a vibrant, much-read and much-noticed website. Do, please, keep them coming!

Our content has been followed up by the likes of BBC London News, the Guardian, Sunday Times, Evening Standard, Daily Mirror and, of course, Private Eye, where Croydon, and Sutton, retain a dark fascination and remain among the rottenest of Rotten Boroughs, repeatedly demonstrating how Inside Croydon is giving voice to residents and businesses in the borough.

Please keep the emails, direct messages and Tweets (@InsideCroydon) coming.

We’ll be back on Friday – December 27 – when we already have a couple of juicy exclusives from the Town Hall that Tony Newman and his numpties tried to cover-up, including more news on Westfield and the tens of thousands of pounds of public cash that the council lavished on a discredited bankrupt.

But in the meantime, Walter Cronxite, Ken Lee, Carl Shilton, Jeremy Clackson and the rest of the crew are off to the Inside Croydon Towers Christmas party for a well-deserved break.

So have yourself a merry, merry Christmas.

Here’s wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2020
