Croydon man formally charged with murder of Andrew Clark

Demiesh Williams, the man from Shirley who was arrested following the brutal assault on Andrew Clark outside a Bromley supermarket earlier this month, has been formally charged with murder.

Williams, 29, of Fir Tree Gardens, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday and was remanded into custody.

He had been arrested close to the scene, after police were called to an incident on Upper Elmers End Road just after 8.20pm on Sunday March 16, where Clark was treated by paramedics for what the Met describes as “head injuries”.

Clark was rushed to hospital but never recovered from his injuries.

He died three days later, on Wednesday, March 19. Clark was 43.

Williams will appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday June 10.
