Pirates staging a festival of baseball at Roundshaw, July 5-6

This weekend, national champions the Croydon Pirates are hosting the London Tournament baseball festival at Roundshaw Playing Fields.

The event is free and open to all, inviting the local community and baseball fans from across the country to enjoy a weekend of sport and entertainment.
The tournament will showcase teams from around the country, including participants from Scotland, Birmingham, Loughborough and the Great Britain under-15s.

The event is being held in partnership with the British Baseball Federation and BaseballSoftballUK, with sponsorship from Donnelly Financial Advice and Comet Sports.

Alongside a full schedule of baseball games, the festival will feature a Home Run Derby, live DJ sets, and a variety of food and drink options, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all ages.

One of Britain’s longest-established baseball clubs, the Croydon Pirates were formed in 1981.

Roundshaw has two baseball diamonds, and is the secen of the Pirates’ regular home games.

The London Baseball Tournament takes place this Saturday, July 5, from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday, July 6, from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free, and Roundshaw Playing Fields, Wallington CR0 4RW can be accessed by the end of Hannibal Way.
