Behzod Abduraimov, described by The Independent as “the most perfectly accomplished pianist of his generation”, is coming to Croydon next month to perform, not long after Trinity School stages its annual piano festival, which begins tomorrow.
Abduraimov’s recital will take place at Trinity School’s Concert Hall on February 25 from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets for the performance are available for pruchase by the public.
Behzod performs regularly with the world’s leading orchestras, from Chicago Symphony and New York Philharmonic, to the Royal Concertgebouw and NHK Symphony, and has played at the world’s finest venues, including Carnegie Hall and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
Behzod’s programme for his concert at Trinity will showcase his virtuosity, as it includes Brahms’ Klavierstücke Op 119 and works by Czerny, Liszt and Debussy, and Stavinsky’s Three Movements from Pétrouchka.
The week-long piano festival, which runs from January 26 to 30, will see more than 100 pupils performing during their lunch breaks on Steinway grand piano.
“Everyone, from beginners to the school’s top pianists, will be involved,” the school says.
“The corridors will be filled with music, with large crowds gathering to support pupils in their choice of piece.”

Piano festival: piano players of all abilities are encouraged to step up and perform their favourite number on Steinways arranged in Trinity’s corridors
The week begins with a performance by this year’s Steinway Scholar, sixth former Isaac Rogers, ahead of his recital for the Trinity Musician of the Year competition.
Other special music events coming up at Trinity include:
Mon Jan 26, 4.15pm in the Recital Hall: A recital from Karl Lutchmayer – globally acclaimed pianist, Steinway artist and lecturer. His programme includes Ravel’s masterpiece Gaspard de la Nuit, one of the most difficult works in the piano repertoire, followed by Brahms’ Intermezzi Op 117 and will finish with Liszt’s showpiece la Campanella.
Tue Jan 27, 6.30pm in the Concert Hall: the recital competition round of Trinity Musician of the Year 2026. Eight of Trinity’s finest musicians compete for one of three coveted places in the Concerto Final with the London Mozart Players. Expect performances on trumpet, oboe, violin, piano, cello, saxophone and voice.
Mon Mar 2 at 4pm in the Recital Hall: the very best musicians who played during the Piano Festival will compete for a chance to visit Steinway in London.
Trinity became an “all-Steinway” school in 2012, and has 25 pianos at its disposal for use by pupils and staff in its expansive music centre.
Richard Evans, the head of piano at Trinity, said, “Music is central to the culture and community at Trinity.
“From pupils who play several instruments to staff who simply enjoy listening, music creates a shared sense of creativity and connection. Performing builds confidence and self-belief, and having excellent instruments to work with allows students to develop a deeper awareness of sound and express themselves more creatively.”
