Beckenham tram lines disrupted for second day of repairs

Tram passengers looking to travel between Beckenham Junction or Elmers End and Croydon faced a second day of disruption, as engineers continued to work on a faulty power line.

Power cut: engineers are still working on the power lines near Arena tram stop

In a service update issued by Transport for London late last night, the transport authority avoided stating when the repair works – originally in the area close to the Arena tram stop in South Norwood Country Park – might be finished.

“There continues to be disruption on the London Trams network, due to ongoing repair works at Arena,” TfL said.

Tram services are currently suspended between Addiscombe and Beckenham Junction and Addiscombe and Elmers End.

“Our engineers are working around the clock to fix the issue, and we are sorry for the ongoing disruption this is causing to your journeys.”

TfL advise that passengers check before they travel and allow more time for their journey.
