Minions: coming to a screen near you this summer
Vue’s Summer Family Passport Book is aimed at encouraging young film fans to enjoy more big-screen moments.
Under the Passport scheme, youngsters can collect stamps in their Summer Family Passport Book when visiting Vue for the latest family releases. They are also encouraged to share photos of their passport books and adventures on a dedicated Vue Facebook post for the chance to win a £25 Vue gift card.
All the biggest family titles of the summer holidays will come with a stamp for the Summer Family Passport, including the latest blockbusters, returning favourites and special screenings tailor-made for younger viewers.
A movie experience: research suggests that watching a film, like Toy Story 5, together in a cinema has a greater emotional impact
Kicking off the summer with some playtime is Toy Story 5, the latest adventure for Woody and the gang, still showing on the big screen.
There’s even more animated fun this summer with Minions and Monsters, bringing plenty of mischief to the big screen.
Families can also make their mark by seeing other fantastic hits, such as Disney’s live-action Moana, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, both out now, and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, launching August 7.

For the summer break, Vue has also introduced discounted kids’ tickets in partnership with the Great British Summer Savings scheme, meaning children aged 14 and under can enjoy big-screen escapes for less.
Vue’s Mighty Mornings screenings will take place every day across the break. Ideal for children aged between four and 11, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, The Magic Faraway Tree and The Sheep Detectives will be showing among other titles, with prices from just £2.49 a ticket when booked online.

For younger audiences, Vue will also be bringing some of the most popular children’s characters back as part of its Big Shorts series.
Aimed at younger children aged between one and four, the screenings are hosted in a relaxed environment with dimmed lighting.
The screenings come as research from University College London, carried out in collaboration with Vue, reveals that shared big screen experiences are linked to substantial mood lifts, enhanced recall and increased attention.
The study compared collective viewing at the cinema with a home-like setting. While both audiences experienced a mood boost from watching the film, the increase was far greater for cinema-goers – five times that of those watching the same movie at home.
People in the cinema also rated their emotional experience as 36% more intense and 32% more positive, highlighting how the cinematic experience heightens audiences’ emotional responses.
Vue Purley Way is now the closest multiplex to the town centre, following the cinema chain closing their branch at Grants earlier this year.
