Signal failure closes tram network’s Beckenham branch

There has been no tram service all morning between Harrington Road, near South Norwood Country Park, and all stops through to Beckenham Junction.

The notification of the service suspension was issued by Transport for London just after 4am, and affected the morning rush hour.

“Tram services are currently suspended between Harrington Road and Beckenham Junction. This is due to a signal failure in the Harrington Road area,” TfL said.

“For travel between Beckenham Junction and Harrington Road, Woodside or Elmers End, please use local bus routes.

“We are sorry for any disruption this may cause to your journey.”

Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and Southern Rail trains.

TfL has given no indication of when they expect services to return to normal.

TfL suggests allow more time for your journey and check before you travel on their website or on the TfL Go app.
