Here we go again: there will be no direct tram journeys between East Croydon and Wimbledon next week as track works are undertaken between Reeves Corner and Wandle Park
There will be no tram service between Reeves Corner and Wandle Park for almost a week, beginning from 10pm this Friday, October 2.
“This is so essential engineering works can be carried out to improve the tramway,” according to Transport for London.
The works involve a stretch of track with a steep climb up and across the railway lines. The closure will mean that trams will run between Wimbledon and Wandle Park, and then from Centrale to Beckenham Junction and Elmers End, and New Addington.
The disruption is expected to last until Thursday October 8.
And there will be no trams to or from Elmers End on Sunday October 4.
TfL’s standard advice for passengers is to “check before you travel, allow more time for your journey and where possible consider using local buses, walking, or cycling”.
