Site supporter wins tickets for The Stylistics at Fairfield Halls

Long-time Inside Croydon patron Ethel Corduff, from Woodside, together with a guest will be going to the Fairfield Halls next month to see all-time soul greats The Stylistics, pictured below, perform.

Ethel has won tickets worth more than £90 to see the singing sensations reprise all their greatest hits from the 1960s and 1970s.

She took part in a competition exclusively for Inside Croydon’s loyal paying subscribers, and was the first correct answer to be drawn after today’s quiz deadline.

Ethel was among dozens of entries – not all of them correct! – but she knew that The Stylistics were formed in Philadelphia.

The Stylistics will be playing at the Fairfield Halls on Friday November 20, part of a 22-date UK tour..

The Stylistics are the soul pioneers behind a string of hits including You Make Me Feel Brand New and Can’t Give You Anything (But My Love).

Original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell will be on stage in Croydon to perform their fans’ favourite numbers. “We love returning to the UK and can’t wait to perform all our hits, bringing back great memories and having a great evening with you all.”

Few groups can match The Stylistics’ run of success.

In the early 1970s, they achieved an extraordinary 10 consecutive Top Ten hits, establishing themselves as one of Philadelphia’s biggest musical exports and one of the defining vocal groups of the era.

Their 2026 tour offers audiences the chance to hear their soul classic catalogue performed by members who were there when these songs first became hits.

The set will feature the Grammy-nominated You Make Me Feel Brand New, alongside You Are Everything, Betcha by Golly, Wow, I’m Stone In Love With You, Let’s Put It All Together, Sing Baby Sing, Rockin’ Roll Baby and many more.

With their sophisticated arrangements, distinctive harmonies and unmistakable Philadelphia soul sound, The Stylistics have continued to attract audiences across generations. Their influence extends well beyond the soul and R&B world, with their music continuing to resonate across pop and contemporary music.
