Inside Croydon is delighted to offer a pair of tickets to next week’s long-awaited concert return of Steeleye Span to Croydon as the prize in our latest exclusive subscriber competition.
Steeleye Span will be performing live at the Ashcroft Theatre next Thursday, November 5, and one lucky subscriber and their guest will be their courtesy of the band’s promoters, provided that they can answer one simple question in our prize competition.
Steeleye Span changed the face of folk music forever by taking it into the world of gold discs and international tours.

Conflict resolution: Maddy Prior and Steeleye Span are on a 55-year anniversary tour
Now they return with “Conflict”, their first full studio album in more than five years. “Conflict” is an album that follows in the tradition of modern and self-composed pieces alongside old songs.
The band’s promoters say: “The album’s title was chosen as much to reflect the times we find ourselves in, but also the stretch and tear of our relationship with this planet that hosts us.”
The first single from the new album, Over The Hills And Far Away, has Steeleye Span’s distinctive and unmistakable take on a traditional English folk song.
At the Ashcroft Theatre, with such a rich history to choose from, the night will offer a selection of songs from across the years and albums, coupled with firm fan favourites. Led, as ever, by Maddy Prior, Andrew Sinclair, Roger Carey, Liam Genockey, Julian Littman and Athena Octavia.
- Steeleye Span are playing the Ashcroft Theatre, Park Lane, CR0 1JD on Thursday, November 5. Doors open 7pm. Tickets: £33/25/£37.75/£35.50. Box Office: 0203 292 0002
