Eddie Izzard adds a laugh to Croydon campaigning

Eddie Izzard: campaigning on behalf of Ken Livingstone

Inside Croydon‘s loyal reader has more than once suggested that there is already a clown in charge at City Hall, but this morning there will be a real comedian at East Croydon station, when Eddie Izzard will be urging south Londoners to return Ken Livingstone as London Mayor in May.

Fresh from greeting commuters at the transforming London Bridge station yesterday with Livingstone and Ed Milliband, Izzard will be courting voters from around 9.45am.

Izzard knows Croydon well – the actor and activist is an avid Crystal Palace fan.

Expect lively trader banter if Izzard ventures into Surrey Street, a regular part of election campaigners’ route as they tour central Croydon.
