Kick off the weekend with Community Games at the BRIT

FootballLeaders of Tomorrow is a Community Games event being staged at the BRIT School in Selhurst this Friday, organised by local volunteers with help from the Crystal Palace FC Foundation, South London YMCA and the local anti-street crime charity, Lives Not Knives.

The day’s activities centre around a series of five-a-side football tournaments (for 13- to 15-year-olds, 16- to 18-year-olds and for adults) – with everyone welcome to attend this free event.

There will be food, a raffle, a number of community stalls and activities; a real family-fun day out with a variety of ways to get involved whether you’re a football fan or not.

The young volunteers, Sammy-Jo Bentley, Tara Norwood, Clint Muldoon and George Henry, who have worked on the event hope that the day’s activities will build on the legacy of London 2012 and the sense of celebration and community spirit that was nurtured in Croydon.

The Community Games will be held from 12-5pm (the football kicks off at 2pm) at the BRIT School, 60 The Crescent, Croydon, CR0 2HN.
