Alisa Flemming, an Upper Norwood councillor, worked for Croydon North MP Malcolm Wicks for 10 years.
Her employment as a busy caseworker in the MP’s office leaves Flemming well-qualified to tackle the job of helping constituents as an MP.
Flemming has not joined in the heavy rate of campaigning that other candidates have been involved in through letters to the 300 members or with emails or a website to court local Labour party supporters in Croydon Central, and she is not expected to advance to the short-list.
