Project B ready for daytime opening on ground floor

The old, much-loved Beanos, off Surrey Street, is being put to great use, as Project B launch their daytime Café-Bar on the ground floor of this listed building.

Project B interiorProject B’s café-bar provides a day-to-day option for people looking for a great gourmet sandwich and a glass of fine wine or cold beer, or something stronger and more creative.

The space will be used in the evenings and on Sundays for private events.

With Project B’s existing events venue fully booked until the end of summer, the owners turned their attention to the ground floor, giving it an industrial-luxe makeover, making it unrecognisable from its previous eclectic incarnations.

Think stone flooring, bare Edison’s, neon lighting, a Pashley trike and a jubilee-edition original phonebox.

The drinks menu continues the classics theme, with not an 80s cocktail in sight. Instead the team have opted to serve aperitifs alongside martinis, negronis and other classic mixed drinks, great wines and craft beers.

CocktailsFood by day will change regularly but kicks off with The Magnificent Seven – reportedly the best seven sandwiches in town, free-range meat, five types of bread baked fresh daily, home-made sauces and market-sourced ingredients.

The Project B Café-Bar launches on May 8 with an early evening event. Click here to join the event or contact karen@projectbcroydon.com.
