Digby Fairweather plays Croydon High S’cool Jazz, June 5

Digby Fairweather

Croydon High School is absolutely delighted to announce that they will be welcoming Digby Fairweather back to the school, giving another opportunity to enjoy some wonderful live jazz on Friday June 5.

Last year’s event was a real highlight of the school year.

Fairweather has more than 40 years’ experience playing in and leading a number of bands, including Digby’s Half Dozen where he toured and performed with the late George Melly and former Manfred Mann lead singer Paul Jones. He has also long pursued a parallel career as a broadcaster and writer on jazz. He is the Patron of the Birmingham International Jazz Festival.

He has agreed to run a Masterclass for some of Croydon High’s own talented musicians on the afternoon of June 5, and then to perform (with some special guests) with a concert in the school grounds that evening from 7-9pm.

  • Please come along, bring a picnic if you wish and enjoy a cocktail and some excellent jazz in the school grounds. Tickets are £10 per person and can be booked via Michele Walker m.walker@cry.gdst.net or 020 8260 7500 in the Senior school office. Cheques made payable to Croydon High School
