If you have a generous garden or just a window box, the RSPB wants your help to monitor the health and well-being of our suburban wildlife.
Big Garden Birdwatch will bring you closer to nature. Organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, it takes just an hour and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
More than half a million people from across the country are set to take part by counting the birds in their gardens over the weekend of January 30-31.
They’ll also make a record of the other wildlife they see throughout the year, providing a vital snapshot of British nature.
Taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch is free. There is also an education pack available for schools and teachers, who can spend one lesson with their class monitoring local bird life with their pupils (this can be done any time until February 12, click here for details and information packs).
For householders who want to request a free pack or simply register details, they will get £5 off your next purchase in our shop (there are Ts&Cs, as with most things).
