The South Norwood and Woodside Community Association is appealing for volunteers to assist with its lunch club.
SNWCA is a small charity based in the South Norwood High Street area.
The lunch club is for older people on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and for adults with learning difficulties on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Karen Jewitt, a Croydon councillor who works with the charity, said: “We are in need of volunteers to help in the kitchen, serve and clear the tables, general socialisation, go out on our bus to pick our folks up and bring them to us.
“We ask people to commit to one day a week from 9.30am to 2pm. If anyone feels they can offer some time, on Thursdays and Fridays especially, we would be really grateful.
“You have no idea how much it means to our older generation to be able to meet people, have a hot, nourishing meal, maybe a trip to the seaside in the summer, or carvery lunches at the Toby.”
If you think you can help as a volunteer, email your contact details to snwca@hotmail.co.uk.
