Keep Our St Helier Hospital is staging a free screening of the acclaimed documentary, Sell Off, followed by a discussion in Wallington next Thursday, October 13.

They say, “St Helier Hospital is under imminent threat of closure, and our NHS is being privatised, dismantled and taken away from us. This one-hour documentary explains how it has happened, for how long, and by whom. Please join us to find out what we’re up against, and to discuss what we can do to stop and reverse it.”

Any significant reductions in service in Sutton, or the closure of St Helier, will inevitably have a detrimental impact on the NHS and care services in Croydon.

With widespread and ever-deeper cuts expected to be implemented at Mayday Hospital and by the Croydon CCG, which oversees the borough’s GP practices, this documentary will provide some important background information on the strategy being pursued over the break-up of the NHS.

The screening takes place from 7.30pm at The Woodcote Flying Club, Hillcrest House, Woodcote Rd (opposite WH Smith), Wallington SM6 0LT.

It’s a five-minute walk from Wallington station. Buses 127, 151, 157, 463, 633 and S4.
