South Norwood community rallies at ‘Buy At Emertons Day’

emertons-day

In support of Emertons, the high street hardware store which is under threat of closure after 120 years of business because of the massive increase in on-street trading licence fees levied by Croydon Council, the South Norwood Tourist Board is organising a “buy-in” on November 16 at noon.

This outburst of support for the local traders will, say the SNTB, see them, “Purchasing items and displaying what we have bought on the pavement outside.”

Everyone is invited to join in and show the owners of Emertons and other local shops that they have the support of the community around them.
