Suburban spy drama is coming to Selsdon Hall this week

In 1960s suburbia, Barbara and Bob Jackson are living an idyllic life with their daughter Julie.

But when they are visited by the security services, they are informed that their best friends and neighbours, the Canadian Krogers, may not be all they seem.

The Jacksons must make a crucial decision – and betrayal may come at a terrible cost…

Hugh Whitemore’s gripping and moving drama, Pack Of Lies, come to the Selsdon Hall this week, the latest production from CODA.

CODA was founded in 1943 and has been performing musicals and plays to a high standard around the borough for more than 80 years.

Pack Of Lies comes after recent productions of Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy Ten Times Table and CS Lewis’s family adventure The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe.

Worried neighbours: Sarah H Gordon and Michael Hall play the Jacksons in CODA’s Pack Of Lies

Pack Of Lies is a thought-provoking play, based on the true story of the Portland Spy Ring.

The production is directed by Peter Bramwell and stars Sarah H Gordon as Barbara Jackson, Michael Hall as Bob Jackson, David Sanders as Mr Stewart, Geet Chawla as Helen Kroger and Graham Callison as Peter Kroger.

“I feel really privileged to be a part of this cast, and see close up what an amazing job my fellow cast members are doing,” said Michael Hall, CODA’s chairman.

“This is a really interesting story, and I’m sure audiences will enjoy it.”

Pack Of Lies runs from Wednesday May 1 to Sunday May 5 (but excluding Thursday May 2) at Selsdon Hall (132 Addington Road), with performances at 7.45pm on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, a matinee on Saturday May 4 at 2.30pm and a final performance on Sunday May 5 at 4pm.

Tickets are £15, and can be booked online at www.codashows.co.uk or by email at tickets@codashows.co.uk.
