Following our full and detailed live coverage of election night, here are the full, formal results from the General Election for Croydon’s seats.
This is what happens when you have a cross-borough constituency. By 11.30am today, neither Croydon, nor Lambeth Council, which had conducted the count for Streatham and Croydon North, had published the finalised result for that constituency.
Tough luck for residents of Norbury, Crystal Palace, Upper Norwood and parts of Thornton Heath, and people living in Streatham.
So, if our professional civic administrators cannot deliver, here’s the constituency results courtesy of the journalists and broadcasters at the BBC:

The number of uncounted/spoiled ballot papers is surprisingly consistent across the 3 constituencies. East 177, South 164, West 182.
There’s “anoraky” stuff and then there’s the Golden Anorak, which you have just been awarded.
According to one of m’colleagues, among the best of the spoilt ballots last night was one with “I hate them all” scrawled across it.
The editor of Inside Croydon confirms it was not his ballot paper.
I was looking for the number of spoiled ballot papers in the article above but could not see it. Where did you obtain this information?
On the council website
It seems that turnout is down across the board, which is really disappointing and perhaps strengthens the argument for PR. Given the state of the country, you’d have thought that turnout should be up, not down. I wonder how the issues with postal votes have effected this?
Separately, Croydon South still has the highest turnout for the 4 constituencies in the borough at 66 per cent, although it is down on the previous election. Does this mean that Conservative voters are still the most likely to turnout and vote? As an addition to that, does it still mean that the older you are the more likely you are to vote?
Croydon South had the highest turn-out because it was the only Croydon seat where the result was ever in doubt.
Low turn-out nationally, otherwise? That was Tory voters not bothering to vote.
After 14 years of that shit show, why would you?
PR? That will favour mad parties like Reform. For the record, Labour won two-thirds of parliamentary seats last night with one third of the vote. Just sayin …
