Bagatti’s, South End’s outstanding Italian restaurant, is staging a special charity night next month which will include a turn from former footballers Tony Gale (West Ham, Fulham and a couple of games for Palace) and Les Strong (profoundly Fulham, plus a handful of games for Palace).

Charity night: the Lily Foundation is pushing the boat out in South End
“Experience La Dolce Vita with our football legend hosts!” says the Lily Foundation, the charity organising the fund-raising night.
Warlingham-based the Lily Foundation raises funds for research into mitochondrial disease, a rare, complex and difficult-to-diagnose genetic disorder that affects people in very different ways.
It can affect any organ at any age, and often occurs in babies and young children. There is currently no cure, but the Lily Foundation, the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial research in Europe, is working hard to change that.
Which is where the evening at Bagatti’s comes in. “Join us at Bagatti’s restaurant in Croydon for a relaxed and joyful evening of authentic Italian food, fine wine, live music and dancing.” And there’s some fabulous raffle prizes to be won, or you can bid on exclusive auction items.
Tickets for the evening on June 12 are £37 – with Bagatti’s donating £15 of every ticket bought to the cause.

South End line-up: Tony Gale
The price includes a two-course Italian meal, with tea or coffee to finish, as well as live entertainment.
