Local trades unionists and activists are to hold a rally outside Lunar House on September 5, as a counter-demonstration to a protest by the fascist British National Party.
The BNP, possibly accompanied by some of their mates from the EDL, have decided to come to Croydon, where Lunar House is the Home Office building where newcomers have their paperwork processed. The BNP demo is planned for a Saturday, when the offices are closed.
The counter-demonstration, organised by Unite Against Fascism, is due to begin at 11.30am. It will be informative to see whether Croydon’s Progress MP, Steve Reed OBE, finds the time in his busy schedule to attend.
“The fascist and racist British National Party are coming to Lunar House to try to intimidate new migrants in our community,” the trades union organisers say.
“We are a coalition of local people and trade unions who have come together to stand against racists and to stand up for our diverse community.”

I wonder if any of our local MP’s will show their support this time?
