Inside Croydon is delighted to be able to offer a pair of tickets to next week’s performance of You’re Bard, the hilarious “Shakespearience” being staged at the Fairfield Halls on Thursday, February 8.
Described by The Stage as “delightfully daft”, You’re Bard delivers slapstick physical humour, and Shakespeare like you’ve never seen before, in a hectic, frantic stage production that will delight all the family (at least those who are older than 10).
This is improv taken back to the days of the Elizabethan Globe. “Four actors. Four Shakespeare shows. Endless possibilities,” say the producers.
You – the audience – decide everything, from the play to the performance style, even which actor plays which part.
This unpredictable new show features actors whose past experience includes the RSC, Bristol Old Vic, Cheltenham Everyman and the West End.
The show has been described by one reviewer as, “A chaotic, ambitious, side-splittingly funny interactive Shakespearience.” But then, they won’t have seen exactly the same performance as will be staged in Croydon next week.
This is part of the first major UK tour for the company, IKP. You’re Bard is suitable for ages 10 and upwards.
Tickets – £23.75 each – are selling fast for next Thursday’s performance of You’re Bard. You can book your tickets here.
Thanks to the Fairfield Halls and BH Live, Inside Croydon has one pair of tickets for You’re Bard to give away.
Our offer is open only to fully paid-up subscribers to Inside Croydon, with the pair of tickets going to the first to email us with the correct answer to this question:
What is the generally accepted number of plays to have been written in his career by William Shakespeare?
Email your answer, together with your name and mobile phone number, to inside.croydon@btinternet.com.
But you’d better be quick – the competition closes at noon on Monday, February 5, when the first correct entry to be drawn out of the Editor’s very big hat will be declared the winner. The winner will be informed by email.
Usual iC Ts&Cs apply: no cash alternative, and you and a guest must be available to attend the performance of You’re Bard in the Ashcroft Theatre from 7.30pm next Thursday, February 8. And the best bit… the Editor’s decision etc etc etc…
