Man in ‘life-threatening condition’ after Oakbank shooting

A 28-year-old man is in a “life-threatening condition” in hospital after a shooting in Oakbank, New Addington, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Metropolitan Police was called to Oakbank, just off Fieldway, at around 4.30am on June 22, where the man was found with shot wounds.

“Police were called at 04.31hrs to Oakbank, New Addington, following reports of a firearms discharge,” a Scotland Yard spokesperson said.

“Officers responded with the [London Ambulance Service] and London’s Air Ambulance.

“A 28-year-old man was found a gunshot injury.

“He was taken to hospital, where he remains. His condition is being treated as life-threatening.

“There have been no arrests at this early stage. A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing.”

The police are appealing for withnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1420/22Jun.

  1. “following reports of a firearms discharge”. Somebody should tell Scotland Yard that this isn’t the 19th century but 2024. In Plain English, the reason people called the police was because they heard shots being fired.
