Bus station shut-down: with 25 bus routes, trams and London Overground trains, West Croydon is a signifcant transport hub
There were diversions and disruption to bus routes in and around West Croydon Bus Station and across the town centre yesterday evening, following a collision between two London buses.
There were no injuries reported, according to Transport for London.
The incident occurred at around 8.30pm, TfL says.
According to passengers, buses were still being re-routed as a consequence of the bus crash at least half an hour later.
West Croydon Bus Station, which was rebuilt in 2014-2016, is a significant transport inter-change, for buses, London Overground trains and trams.
There are six stands within the bus station, where 25 bus routes terminate or pass through: 50, 60, 64, 75, 109, 154, 157, 166, 194, 198, 250, 264, 289, 367, 403, 407, 410, 450 and 468, and night routes N68, N109 and N250, plus two Superloop routes – SL6 and SL7.
Operators Arriva London, London Central, London General, Metrobus, Stagecoach and Transport UK London Bus all have services using the bus station.
“Some bus routes were placed on diversion but there was minimum disruption with the buses being quickly recovered,” TfL told Inside Croydon this morning.

It’s chaos at West Croydon Bus Station at the best of times.
I remember them doing the latest re-build – why, oh why, oh, why did they cram it all in so tight? It was always going to be a nightmare
