Someone at TfL must have found a shilling to stick in the meter.

Not running: there’s no tram service to New Addington for a second successive day
Croydon’s tram network was back in service this morning, but only up to a point.
And as residents – and commuters – from New Addington trying to get into work this morning soon discovered, that point was somewhere around Addington Village.
For while Transport for London was advising “Good service on the rest of the line,” it was blaming a power failure (again), for the lack of service on the New Addington branch.
As per usual, TfL says, “Tickets are being accepted on London buses via any reasonable route.”
Today’s service disruption follows the closing of the whole network on Thursday, from Beckenham Junction to Wimbledon via Mitcham, due to a power cut at the Therapia Lane depot.

Status update: for New Addington residents, this is an all-too-familiar situation
UK Power Networks reported that power had been restored by late morning yesterday. But there were no trams running again until this morning. Only not to or from New Addington…
TfL issued an advisory this morning: “We are pleased to have restored service to most of the London Trams network following yesterday’s power failure at Therapia Lane.
“Trams remain suspended between New Addington and Addington Village due to a related power failure at Addington Village. Please use local buses to complete your journey.
“We are sorry for any disruption this has caused to your journeys.”
No explanation has been offered for the power cuts at Therapia Lane and Addington Village, or the absence of, or failure of, any back-up power system. TfL’s press office had failed to respond to questions from Inside Croydon by the time of publication.
