A Croydon care home raised almost £500 from a coffee morning staged there by volunteers.

Money-raising: residents, their family and friends, attended the coffee morning at MHA Hall Grange
The coffee morning at MHA Hall Grange, in Shirley, included a variety of stalls and fundraising activities, such as a raffle and tombola. The cake stall was a particular favourite.
Residents, family and friends attended the morning at Hall Grange, on Shirley Church Road, raising £495.30, with donations still coming in.
Money raised will go towards the home’s amenities fund.
MHA Hall Grange offers residential and dementia care for up to 86 older people. It is one of 73 care homes, 59 retirement living schemes and 39 community hubs operated by MHA, looking after 17,500 older people to live later life well.
Gemma Watson, the activities coordinator at Hall Grange said: “It was a fantastic effort by our wonderful volunteers who set up the coffee morning.
“To raise the amount, they did in just over two hours is a fantastic achievement. It was lovely to see so many people come to the home and it was great to see them walking around and taking everything in.
“On behalf of everyone at the home we want to thank everyone who supported the coffee morning and especially to our volunteers as without them none of this would have been possible.”
